In my case, losing weight helped a lot with edema. I still have some swelling, but not as bad. Good luck to you!

Sometimes it's sodium or salt in the diet. I used to get pitted edema in my legs, but since I've lost weight it doesn't happen anymore

I would check with your doctor. It is probably no big deal, but sometimes leg swelling points to other issues too. Clue him/her in just to be sure.

I have the same problem. 3 weeks post op and still happens. My doctor told me it is related to my heart. She said that my heart has a hard time pumping the blood back up my body so it basically pools in my feet, ankles and lower legs. Sitting in a recliner position really helps. Hopefully it will pass after I lose weight.
