Cold remedies

Okay so I’m just over 6 weeks out and was told not to take any medications and didn’t know if a spoonful of honey was okay to treat my sore throat.

    No meds post-op? Hmmm. I know they told me no NSAIDS because of potential ulcers. I'd be a little afraid of the sugar in the honey. What about an over-the-counter throat spray instead?

Well it is a concentrated sugar solution, I would see if your surgeon would grant you dispensation for it, know it did help pre-surgery. Post-surgery since I am a RNY, I'm too scared of causing my first "dumping".
