I think it really varies from company to company. Does your surgeon's office have an insurance coordinator? That person would be able to give you an idea of how long your insurance company takes. I hope it is real soon!! Hang in there.

I was told 14-30 days after your surgeons office sends everything in. I have Anthem BCBS and was told their policy is that it take no longer than 14 days. I got my approval in a week.

I got my approval in 4 days. United Healthcare PPO

I'm waiting as well. I went in last Tuesday... they didn't submit my information until Thursday ? I called them to see if they had heard anything on Friday--now I will just send all questions to the insurance company. My provider is UPMC and I have Gilsbar supplemental.
