Sore throat

Hi guys,

I had my first band fill on 28th August and feel no restriction when eating and can eat the same portion size pretty much as before - however the past week or so randomly throughout the day I've had an on-off sore throat.

I am pretty sure it is not acid related as I take PPIs for acid reflux that I suffered with for years before surgery. Anyone else had this issue? May be totally unrelated but its so annoying!!

I don't have a band so probably not much help. Hopefully it isn't band related and you are feeling better now.

Just in case, I assume you are getting plenty of fluids?

I dont think it would be related. The fill is literally just an injection into the port to inflate the band slightly. As it was your first fill, I doubt it was enough to make any difference really as it can take 6-7 fills before you are at your 'sweet spot'. Your sore throat might be from the flu on its way maybe? not sure.

It could still very well be acid reflux issues.

I don't have acid reflux issues... and the band gave me grade 4 esophagitis, even though I never felt a thing. Did you talk to your surgeon about it yet?
