Was sleeved in July, but just wanted to tell you all that you got this. It's going to be rough at first but when those times come just remember that the recovery process is only temporary and when you

October 3rd! I'm nervous! And also excited! Btw, thanks for labeling this thread "2018." There are two other October threads that don't have the year marked, and I really hope some of us stay in

I've started a list to help people find their surgery buddies. This is supposed to just be sleevers, but I bet some others snuck on. It's supposed to be all the October sleevers, but I'm 100% sure I m

A friend recommended a local chiropractor several years ago and today I went to see him. Aside from constant pain from surgery, I was in a car accident 7 years ago and have never been the same since. This chiropractor may have just changed my life for the better. He used laser therapy and explained how my nervous system is out of whack from surgery and any other major medical issues I've had during my lifetime. I had gastric sleeve on 10/30 so tomorrow is my 1 week anniversary. I have been feeling so dizzy, tired, no energy (even though I'm drinking plenty of water and getting in protein). I haven't been sleeping well, even with sleep-aids. After this appointment, I feel at least 50% better and have energy that I didn't have this morning. If you have an opportunity to see a doctor who uses laser therapy, I highly recommend it.

@Yvonne47 I've made scrambled eggs twice (not even one week out) just because I craved it so badly. I kind of let it sit in my mouth, chewed 30 times like instructed, and swallowed maybe 1/4 of one egg. It hit the bottom of my stomach like a lead balloon and my dogs loved getting the rest of what I cooked.

Did anybody start soft foods right before you saw the Dr. I see the Dr tomorrow but I'm tempted to make an egg today

I was tempted. Talked to my nutritionist she told me not to do it. I see the doctor on Thursday 11/8/2018. I brought some sugar free fudge bars instead ... they help. She also told me to try cream of tomato soup and cream of chicken ... remove all lumps. That has satisfied me for now. But I will be glad to eat real food ...scrambled eggs sound good.

@Yvonne47 My team gave me a list of soft foods to try after my post-op visit and suggested I work my way down it. Eggs were not at the top of the list, and even working up to them, the first time I had them they settled pretty heavily. (I wasn't sick, but I wasn't in a hurry to eat more eggs that week, either.) I had cottage cheese, ricotta, yogurt, and refried beans before eggs. Really moist tuna salad (made with plain yogurt instead of mayo and squished up very thoroughly with a fork) also settled better, for me. But I don't ever do runny yolks or any of that--if you do, eggs might go better for you, sooner, than they went for me.

Anyway, good luck at your post-op visit!

Thank you yes I needed help on what's really considered soft foods I never like cottage cheese don't know if ill try that but ill take any suggestions it'll help.

I wake up hungry (so I guess the opposite of nauseated), most mornings, Oct517, but I end up a little nauseated after like half of my meals. Like you, I've never thrown up from it (though I was uncareful with some sliced roast beef last night, and it was a near thing), but it's awful. My body isn't consistently giving me a "full" signal, so I think I end up eating just a little more than I should, or something?
Anyway, any other time I have nausea it's almost always dehydration. A sugar free popsicle often clears it right up. I wonder if getting a little beverage in you right after you wake up would help?
I've heard people say they stick to protein shakes, or smoothies, or some other liquid for breakfast well after surgery, and I wonder if they're going through the same kind of thing you are.
Oh yes, I have no idea what my full or hungry signals are now. I just eat on a time schedule and stop after a few bites.
Even the smoothies and protein shakes make me nauseous in the morning. Having to take the multivitamin is the worst.

Oh a positive note, I met with my surgeon today and he cleared me for all physical activity. I have an appointment with a personal trainer tomorrow morning!

Mine was 10/22 as well! How are you feeling two weeks out?

Had a hard time with getting the liquids in at first but doing better now. My taste buds changed, which I expected, and no flavors tasted well. However it has gotten better over the past few days. I get tired easy but again, to be expected.

How are you doing?

My current favorite food (aka the only thing I can eat that doesn't make me feel sick): Egg white and ham muffins
118 cal, 16 g of protein, 2 carb, 0 sugar, 0 fat
1/4 cup liquid egg whites
2 tablespoons of mild cheddar cheese
1 slice of smoke ham (deli style)

About the same as you; getting 48-54oz of my liquid in each day...more is a real challenge. Taste buds seem the same but i am not craving sweets like I used to. Everything I've tried had worked well. So far, so good! I am in a stall for the past three days or so.
