I have just had a conversation with a 2 yr middle aged sleever.
She told me her Gastric Surgeon steered her towards sleeve because she said as you get much older with the bypass you sometimes can’t hold the poop and often when you’re eating it literally goes straight through you. Anyone heard or experienced this?

None of us our medical professionals on this site. I would talk with your surgeon's office to get facts. Your surgeon also has your medical history and will do pre op tests. They will steer you in the right direction of type of surgery.

Never heard of that. I don’t think that is a common belief among bariatric surgeons.

I think some surgeons recommend sleeve over bypass because it is an easier surgery for them and takes less time, so their guidance may not actually be what’s best for the patient and instead go with what’s best for them.

My surgeon recommends the sleeve for everyone unless they have significant GE reflux disease. He is one of the bariatric surgery pioneers in Texas and has over 25 years experience.

I’m chronically constipated so can’t imagine this being an issue for me. Sounds like bunk to me.
