How long before you return to work?

Hello All, I'm curious at finding out how much time people were given to be off of work or how long you waited to go back. I hear that it takes 2-3 weeks but some people feel fine after less than a week.:sick

I had my Band surgery on Thursday 10/25/07 and am scheduled to go back to work on Monday 11/12. So that's about 2.5 weeks.

I'm not sure if I'm ready to go back yet. I'm still so uncomfortable. Please let me know. I know that everyone heals differently and pain levels all vary. I have a desk job, but it is very demanding and fast paced work. I just want to know if I'm being a big baby or not. Thanks.

I've had two of my employees had banding recently. One had her surgery on a Tuesday and returned to work the following Monday. She had a hard time because of all the running around her job entales. The other was out for two weeks and she said she wanted to come back after the first week but decided to just use her time to make sure she was up to par when she got back to work. I myself am taking 2 1/2 weeks too. I will be banded 12/5 and don't go back to work 12/24. Hope that helps.

I was banded on a Monday and went back to work the following Wednesday. So...I was out 1.5 weeks. Everyone is different. Take your time and heal well.

I was banded on a Tuesday - back at work on the following Monday (6 days out) have a desk job - did fine...

I was banded on the Thursday and back working on the Monday (from home though)... first day back at the office today... Day 7. I have had a pretty good run with this so far... everyone's different.

i was banded on thursday, back to work the following tuesday for 1/2 a day. worked wednesday, thursday, and 1/2 friday, then the next week i worked monday and tuesday, 1/2 day wednesday and was off thursday and friday with a sick child. i caught a REALLY bad head cold a week out from surgery and that hindered me. plus i had this pain come back on my left side that was sharp and would take my breath away, but it would go away whenever i would lie down..so.....

I was banded on Thursday and returned to work for 1/2 day on Sat. then had Sun & Mon off then returned on Tues. I would rather have had more time off, but I was out of vacation time, so I had to go back. I work at a desk and it is pretty layed back. It still is uncomfortable, but I get up and walk alot and that seems to help. If you got the time ...take it. I would have if I could have

My surgery was on Thursday and I went back on Tuesday. It was a little tough but doable. It would have been easier if I could sit at a desk and take a break now and then but I was tutoring for five hours, then scheduled to teach a class. However, I locked my keys in my car and had to cancel the class.

Today I have taught two classes but mostly remained seated and used a remote for the presentation of my lecture on PowerPoint. I think that helped, as well as the long breaks between classes. I have one more class to teach and then I can go home and rest until I am due to tutor again at 11:30 tomorrow. Then I have Friday and the weekend off! :)

Yesterday, the pain didn't bother me but I felt weak and tired. Today I have more strength but the pain in my shoulder is more intense. It's always sumpin'!

I was banded last Thursday and have been at work all week (including Monday). I have a desk job. I was in a little bit of pain, but I have been just fine.
