Surgery set for Nov 23rd!!

Hello everyone!

After a year and a half of researching the procedure, 2 seminars, 8 months or so of "lurking" here, my fiance and I are finally prepared! We have been approved for surgery, got our funds and are very excited!

Nov 23rd. Dr Aceves, Mexicali, Mexico. Self-pay.

I know there are lots of you who've gone to Dr Aceves. If you'd like to share advice, experiences - I'd love to hear from you!!! :)

I am scared, thankful, excited, blessed...

Hey jennypoo! (thats so cute!)

Are you working with Nina? If so, isnt she awesome? So nice. :)

I will definitely keep everyone posted. This forum is heaven sent, really. I am on here everyday for 2-3 hours at a time.

There are a handful of people here that have gone to Dr Aceves. WasABubbleButt got banded by him and is quite knowledgable.

Good luck!!!!!

FlaLMT

Hey,

Yeah I have been in contact with NIna and Monica, they are both great.

I have talked to several here that have been banded also.Including Wasa.

Have you joined his message board?Im with you Im spend most of my time on here.Taking in and learning all I can!!

Are you getttin the J&J band?Or the Inamed?

Hey Jenny,

I am getting the J&J band. Simply because its what we can afford. Although it is new to the US, no stats on erosion and slips, I agree with Wasa - J&J is a great company that stand behind their products. I havent read any negative posts here about it either.

Congrats you two on getting banded! It's the best decision I have ever made. Dr. A is a gem, you'll love him. The quality of care is great.

But the surgery is the easy part, the rest is when it gets tough. But you can do it!

Jennypoo and all, I was also looking into Dr. Aceves and doing research. I ran the checklist wasa posted and researching I ran into this:

ObesityHelp - Gastric Bypass, LAP-BAND® System, DS and Other Surgical and Non-Surgical Weight Loss Options. - Profiles - thintowin's Profile

I just thought it would be useful information. I'm having second thoughts and confused at this point.
