I forgot to mention that the surgeon was not able to repair my abdominal hernia - it was too big and will require mesh to fix it. Couldn't do it at the same time. At least now when I have abdominalplasty in a year or year and a half, they can repair it then and insurance will cover the surgery for both. If he had fixed it now, it would have to be redone then anyway. He did say he found a large hiatal hernial and repaired it though. I have had it since my pregnancy with my daughter 42 years ago.

I can't believe how good I feel. I am totally pain free. I have some discomfort at the incision sights but no pain. I can even bend over and put on my socks and shoes.

I to had mine done on the 6th. I am getting the shoulder pain but keeping a pad on it. I am a little sore but not much. I feel wierd, not sure when I am hungry or not. Haven't relly eaten much. Just glad it is done.

Hi. I am new to this thread. My surgery date is December 19th!!!!

Thunder, Mine was on the 6th too. I am sore, no real pain. I am not/ or don 't feel hungry. It is really weird? were you sent hine on lovenox? I am very sleepy and keep falling asleep in chair. gg

I am also on the preop diet, it's not to bad, and counting down the days. Wish I had it done yesterday. But it will be here soon enough. Do any of you that have already had it have any great tips for those of us waiting?

BANDED ON YESTERDAY 12/7/07 NOT REALLY IN PAIN NO SORES JUST REALLY BAD GAS REALLY BAD LIKE A ELEPHANT IS WALKING ON MY CHEST. I PUT A ICE BACK ON PORT AREA I THINK THAT WORKS CAUSE I DON'T HAVE ANY PAIN THERE AND TAKE PAIN MEDS BEFORE PAIN START HELPS GOOD LUCK MONDAY BAND DATES HOPE YOUR BAND IS EASY LIKE MINES GOING BACK TO SLEEP:car:

Dandydeb . . . the only thing I can suggest is to keep yourself busy while you are waiting . . . I was going nuts the week before . . . so just kept going to do things like shopping . . . cleaning (A BIGGIE FOR ME - I'm not Suzie Homemaker) . . . movies . . .projects for Christmas gifts . . . there is no easy way to get through the waiting . . . but oh my . . .you are getting so close!

Chris

Dandydeb,

Make sure you have plenty of soups, protein drinks etc for when you get home - you will not feel like preparing anything after the surgery. Have a liquid vitamin available - you need to be taking these daily to help your recovery. Make sure you have really comfortable clothes to come home in - fashion comes second to comfort on this occasion - if you can get away with out a bra do so or take a really comfortable one with you as many of the incision will be along the band line. Take a book or something with you in case you have a long wait. Can't think of anything else right now.

Danna

Sounds like you are doing great. Congratulations. I love the car, Yes you are on your way. I'll catch up on the 18th!

I am not sure if I posted the wrong date before but my surgery is December 13th, this coming Thursday.

Good luck to all those getting banded in December!

I had mine done the 6th also. Not too sure if I am hungry either. I am not in pain to speak of, my incisions are sore. I had mine done in Mexico and the next morning I went shopping for 2 hours!. I have a hungry feeling in my stomach (the big part of my stomach) but drinking liquids does not satisfy the feeling. Maybe it isn't hunger...not too sure. It feels like I swallowed a piece of hard candy and it is stuck in my chest. It is not too painful, just annoying.

Overall I am feeling great, the little bit of gas I had has subsided, I have just been walking around the house and doing light housework. It helps to move around.
