hey all. i just wanted to include my name in the list of 12/07 bandsters. i was banded with my sister last december 1. i still have yet to find out what her name here is... i'm feeling good considering it's my 3rd day after surgery. i've been watching lots of weight loss shows for some odd reason after surgery (maybe to take my mind off food). but i'm doing good so far.

Keep us posted. I start my 2-day pre-op clear liquid diet today and I am scared. I don't physically feel well without proper nutrition. I guess worst case, I could spend the next two days in bed. I am totally prepared except for some groceries for today and the next three weeks of liquid diet. I need to get some popsicles and juices and the like. I am ready for Christmas. I mailed my cards yesterday and should finish up little last minute touches on the decorating today. We have a traditional Christmas Eve dinner here. We have been having cheese fondue for over 30 years in our house with shrimp, meatballs and all the trimmings that go into cheese mixture. Even the years my children were away from home (very few thank goodness), they made the fondue for whomever they were eating with. My daughter told me yesterday that she will be fixing the dinner and they will all be having liquids in support of me. My DD and my DH will have their 'diet' protein shake and my SIL and grandson will be having Carnation instant breakfast. She will also make a variety of jellos. How's that for support? We will then have the fondue at a later time when all can enjoy. My son can't join us this year. I had an argument with him yesterday. He wants to spend the night with me in the hospital even though I told him it won't be necessary. He spent four nights with me in 2004 when I had my gall bladder removed.

I had my pre-op today. Lasted 3 hours, most of which were spent sitting and waiting. Met with the anesthesiologist, had a chest xray, ekg and bloodwork.

Mrs. Krzyz is going in on December 12th.

I am in the middle of my 5 day liquid pre-op now and I got this! My date is Dec 6th. I am super ready!!!! I may have to treat myself and go see dem Boys in the playoffs!!!!

Hey from Texas, y'all! My date is on Dec. 20. Hopefully perfect timing. I'll have to take 2 days off work, then the weekend, then Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. Then back to work on that Wednesday. I hope this is a realistic goal! Glad to be a part of this board.

Mine is on the 19th. I plan on being back to work on the 26th

My doctor told me that I should be fine. I have a desk job

My day of clear liquids has not been as bad as I expected. I guess my 14 weeks of living on 800 calories of liquid has readied my body for starvation. Hope tomorrow goes as quickly as today. I am so ready for Thursday.

Can someone add me to the 20th December date? I"m not sure how to do that ? I'm trying to figure out the ins and outs of this board. Thanks.

:sickOk you guys its getting so real the hospital called today to give me the do's and don't I have to arrive at the hospital at 9:30am can't eat or drink anything after midnight, don't bring any money jewerly, food and anything with value, must wear loose fitting clothes, socks and slippers, sports bra, make sure I have liquid pain reliever and gas x strips for after surgery. ITS SO REAL NOW

I agree with Tomecia, this is really getting real. The hospital called and said I had to be there at 6am and all the other normal yada yada.

I can hardly wrap my head around this wonderful thing happening tomorrow. I keep hearing that country song in my head, "I'm with the band." I think that's going to be my theme song. It really does fit the situation I think.

Good luck tomorrow everyone! I have a 5 hour drive to make so I won't be on much more today. Maybe tonight if I can't sleep.
