Excessive Gas

Has anyone experienced severe flatulence post-op? I’ve tried everything to curb it with no luck. So I started taking Devrom to at least minimize the odor, but that raises my blood sugar more than a bag of candy.

have you tried gasx?

You can also purchase charcoal pills which is what my surgeon told me to try.

I've tried GasX, Charcoal, Gaviscon, Tums, Pepto...everything. :(

What about Beano with food?

Tried it. Better, but not quite.

Did you take several pills when you eat, or just one? I find if I take 3-4 at the beginning of a meal, it almost completely eliminates gas.

hi, same problem...but what causes the gas exactly...the high proteins?/

No idea. At this point everything gives me gas. Doesn't matter what it is. The only thing so far that has worked is Immodium. For some reason it stops the gas but I can still have regular BMs. There's so much I don't understand yet. And every 2-3 months things change so I'm just working on the premise that this too will pass.
