liquid diet 5 days pre op

Ok, My surgery is on wednesday and I followed my liquid diet, today I got so hungry I was making burgers for my family and I ate a burger, no bun, cheese or anything just the burger itself it was small, but I feel so guilty for cheating should I be worried? Will it be out of my system by wednesday?

I would definitely run it by your surgeon. Just in case. You don’t want them to start and then not be able to continue. You will probably be fine but for safety reason I would let them know. I’m sure it happens quite often

You'll be fine. It's out of your system now. Food doesn't stick around long. Just this close to your surgery, don't cheat again. I cheated here and there on my pre-sugical diet. The big thing to remember is that, not every pre-surgical diet is the same, nor are the reasons for it. I was allowed celery and watermelon on mine, I only had to stop the actual food stuffs 24 hours before surgery. So, odds are you'll be fine.

Just stay on track from here on out!
