... i am embarrassed to ask

But I have to. Is there a stool softener that is not a gel pill? I am 2 weeks out today and since I take my vitamins I have very hard stool from the iron. I am still crashing my other Puls so I can’t take the gel once. Went to CVS and Walgreens and could only see stool softener in form of gel pils.

They should have a liquid form of the docusate sodium (Colace). You may have to ask the pharmacy staff where they keep it.

It’s a laxative I think inside of a stool softener but milk of magnesia did wonders for me. Very effective at moving things out

  • never fear the potty talk here, we have all been there and not been able to do that. great suggestions above.

Only slightly better than placing a drinking straw where the☀don't shine! Ooh the mental image is not nice!?

I did the smooth move tea every evening for the last two days. It works REALLY good. But somehow my stomach is growling the entire day today. I also have diarrhea now. I guess I won't drink it tonight. ;-)

I used Citrate of Magnesium to get things moving and then to keep me regular I add benefiber to my water daily. It dissolves and has no taste. If you are backed up, although it sounds icky sticking it up your rectum, a suppository will help loosen the stool.
