The doctor sent a request for me to get the compression device but I have to pay out of pocket almost $200 for it! It is a recommendation but not mandatory.

How many believe it’s essential?

I found it very helpful. I wore mine for 2 weeks. When's your surgery? I'll mail you mine, if you'd like. Unless you happen to be in the Fort Worth area and you can pick it up.

I’m actually in Dallas!! I can definitely pick them up ? omg that’s so nice of you!!! Are they the ones that go around you calves?

I didn’t wear any leg compressions post op. In fact, I requested the nurse to take mine off in the hospital. I had to frequently get up and urinate and it was a hassle taking them off & putting them on. Besides I was constantly walking in the hospital. Couldn’t sleep

Okay I didn’t think they were necessary! But I had to ask!! Thanks for your insight!

I didn't use any leg compression devices either. In the hospital only one leg was working, so I also had the nurse remove it

The hospital put them on my legs and I didn't have to pay anything, my insurance did.

I only wore it for the overnight at the hospital the first day.

Added info.

They're to make sure you don't have any blood clots in your legs. Just make sure you get up and move around, and you can always order compression socks from Amazon for less than $10 that will do the same thing.

I only wore them while in the hospital and I didn't have to pay for them.

Thanks for the tip!! I def will order some and try to get up and move as often as possible!

Yea he said it’s for once I get home. But I think I’m going to pass on that $200 investment lol. I’m already self pay!
