Ok so I’ll start with a little bit of info about me. I’m 21 years old and currently weigh 225 lbs. My highest weight was 250 lbs. I am in nursing school and currently have my surgery scheduled for July 3rd. I will be having the gastric bypass. I.AM.FREAKING.OUT! I have NEVER had surgery before and I’m scared to death of how it’s going to be after surgery. I’ve even almost called to cancel my surgery altogether a couple of times because I was having a panic attack about it. The issue is I’m worried about pain and how this will affect my health as I age with me only being 21. I’ve went through hundreds of YouTube videos of people talking about their process and it has me worried. I also recently found out my surgeon now has his patients keep their drain tube in for TWO WEEKS! What the actual heck and why!? I feel like that is just asking for an infection to happen. I live in a small town and only know people who have had the sleeve and I’m just really needing insight on bypass surgery experiences. Anything at this point would be helpful information. I know the doctors prepared me for the surgery and they’ve answered my questions in the 7 months I’ve been doing my pre-op stuff but I need first hand experience. Thank you all in advance and I can’t wait to see what you have to say!
