V8?

I am liquid pre-op. Is V8 OK? Less sugar than the protien shakes. Is that too much fiber or carbs?

If you MUST drink V8 then I strongly suggest the low sodium version. But to me the whole thing looks like empty calories.

It would have been ok on my plan, but it depends on the plan you were given.

Different programs/surgeons allow different things during the preop diet so it is probably best to check with yours to be sure. My program in central TX allows no juice of any kind and no liquids (other than shakes) that are more than 15 calories per serving. The protein shakes I used (Premier Protein) have only 2g net carbs and lg sugar per 11 oz. serving.

V8 was also recommended as a between meal snack while on the liquid diet both pre and post op.
