Any June 2018 Sleevers in Here?!

  • Popular Post

Just got my date today, 06/18/18. I’m partially excited, and also terrified. I’m very happy to have a date to work towards and get everything in a row, because the unknown was driving me crazy!

Almost 3w post, and went to the gym today for first time! Felt good - just some treadmill jogging and light weights, but no light headedness or any trouble!

So I'm great as long as I'm sitting doing nothing, but moving around makes me dizzy and weak.

First of all, great job!!! Secondly, I definitely feel your pain here. I’m trying to increase my walks, but the shortest walk exhausts me. I’m using vitamin patches for the first time today, so I feel a bit better.

Woo woo get ready to join the other side.

First day was the hardest and everyday has goetten just a little better. Today is day 6 and I was able to cook a whole family dinner, walk 30 minutes twice without getting super tired, and drank 40 oz of fluids.... just remember that first day to keep your eye on the prize because it’s hard day.

Hi everyone, I have been sleeved and I truly can’t believe it! Recovery isn’t all that bad, just mostly nausea and a little pain with the incisions. Other then that, I’m so excited to start this journey!

Welcome to the other side!!

OMG when does the gas stop?

Mine was about 3-4 days after surgery. It does get better. Just walk as much as you can!! I know everyone says that but it does work!!

The gas is killing me. I’m trying to drink water, but then immediate gas. I walk around and burp a bunch then try to drink some more.

June 18th for me! My recovery has been very easy so far, my surgeon installed 2 On-Q pain pumps that were just removed today.

I am STRUGGLING with getting my fluids and protein in, hoping it gets easier as the swelling goes down. I do have some abdominal distension still from the gas used in the surgery, but nothing terribly severe.

June 13th! Icky as all the I-just-had-major-surgery stuff is, at least I don't have the anxiety of waiting and the frustration of the pre-op diet anymore. Big non-offensive hugs to those still in queue.

@wittymommy.. I am finishing up day 4 pre op. First three days had bad migraines. Withdrawal from sugar and caffeine. Was super hungry and starting re thinking the whole thing and whether I could do it. Woke up on 4th day and no migraine and feeling strong and pumped. If it is tough at the beginning, just know it is getting easier.
Awe thanks @lisarocks. I am already weaned off from caffeine and sugar due to Ramadan (16 hour fasts only eating after sundown and before sunup) so withdrawal happened for me a few weeks ago and I never really went back...it was terrible enough the first time around. I am happy it’s gotten easier for you!!

I’m anxious about going all liquid starting tomorrow. I find the shakes make me feel dehydrated and I can’t drink enough water to make up for it and then I just feel tired. Had my hospital registration yesterday so trying to tell myself it will go quickly and get distracted at work. Got the sugar free popsicles as someone suggested to get through....

Reading about everyone on the other side makes me feel so much better when I freak out a bit though - especially the photos :-)
