My sleeve is scheduled for 5/7! So excited and nervous! I’ve been a longtime lurker on this site and now that I’ve got my date it doesn’t feel real!

Congratulations! My surgery is 5/23. It's exciting and nerve wracking all in 1 but I'm getting more excited now. Yay May surgery buddy :-)

  • 5/11 over here! I'm so ready and nervous at the same time. Just keep telling myself I'll feel so much better in 6 months. I'd rather deal with some stomach discomfort than heave ho this fat through li

Hi hopeful. I can understand your anxiety regarding operation with your medical issues and why you hoped for a proper consultation with anaesthetist in their rooms. These days it is regularly done just before theatre or in a pre admission clinic. What may be helpful to put your mind more at ease is if you find out who your anaesthist will be and ask your GP to draft a medical letter that can b. Faxed ahead to anaesthetists rooms outlining your intra op requirements. Keep a copy to put in your patient notes on day by the admitting nurse also. This will make sure all bases are covered. Believe me the most important person in the operating room is your anaesthetist. It's important you feel safe and secure in their hands

Welcome to all the wonderful new people in this thread who will be joining us on the losers bench during May. Here's hoping for smooth sailing and swift losses for all of us!

@HopefullXOXOXO Yes it is true they nomally tilt your head back for the endo-t tube but as long as it is stable inside and secured outside as well I would see no reason your neck would have to be kept hyperextended. Now this is my semi-educated guess but they may also, place,a sandbag on each side of your, heaf to keep things stable. Your anesthesiologist and surgeon are your bestest, to quote my 5 year cousins favorite word, friends in that operating theatre. Neither of them will imperil your health for they want a positive outcome to your surgery eqaully with you. I am 72, have a history of scolious, lordosis and hypnosis and have, lost 3,inches in height from my youthful high,of 5ft11in. If you want to hear more of my story go to my posting in the Calcium section, so I won't repeat it here . But this a concern I will mention to my own anesthesiologist for my surgery. Remember your friends at Bariatric Pal will be wrapping you in a warm blanket of love on Surgery Day. Those of us who are believers will be praying for you, those who are not will still be wishing you a smooth healing. Come along with me, my generation sister, for the best is yet to be! Sending love and a hug. ? Karen aka Frust8
PS Kyphosis not hyypnosis, doggone this electronic Secretary smartphone. It is not as smart as it thinks it is?

CaliRey95, jules1 & Frust8, I really appreciate your thoughts and support. Thank You. Lisa

Prepop officially starts today. Though it's 3 weeks I'm very fortunate it's just high protein low carb. No liquids only. But of course now that I've started I want a whole mess of fruit [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Lucky! Do you have to include any meal replacement shakes/bars or just protein and veggies each meal?

Don't have to but I can. He just wants me to have at least 70 grams protein with no more than 30 carbs.
