Light-headed and other post-op symptoms

Hi all, I had the ESG 1-wk ago and it has been a bit of a struggle for me. Heartburn, frequently light-headed, night sweats and I feel very hungry but have only been able to take in around 300 calories/day approx 50g protein/day. Anyone else find themselves in a similar state a week post op? I’m definitely improving overall but this has been very challenging with a lot of ups and downs. Thanks!

Lightheaded and shaky and the night sweats, no reflux. That 1st week was rough, but it got a little better each day. Make sure you are staying hydrated right now and the eating will get easier as the swelling in your stomach goes down. Good luck!

Thank you, Nessy76! Makes it easier to know it’s not always as smooth sailing for others too. How far out are you now and how do you feel?

I'm almost 5 years out from my RNY. It happens to most!! Dizzy. headach etc. Now let me stress that WE have to keep hydrated!! Like I said I'm out a ways for sure. But recently (like 2 weeks ago) I was watching TV and laid down on the couch, I stood up and started down the hallway to the bathroom. I started weaving from side to side, it felt like I was trying to rock from one side to the other. I blacked out and fell straight back and woke up when I hit the floor!! SCARY!! I had passed out!! I had been slacking on my fluids and it just caught up with me!! So I just want to say it happens and happens more than anyone wants to admit. Most think they are ok and it won't happen to me!! Well Yeppers it did. The first time in my whole life!! DRINK AND DRINK MORE!!

I’m 6months out and honestly feel like I never had surgery other than the limitation. Nothing has bothered me food wise and I have had no issues post op.
