Sleep! Post-Op Day 2

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery on 2/27 and was released from the hospital this afternoon 3/1. In the hospital I loss sleep due to the nurses poking me every 2-3 hours. However now that I'm home, I can't figure out how to sleep in my flat bed. Should I sleep in the chair? I'm having a rough start. Where did everyone sleep on their 1st night home????

I am still in the hospital and have the same sleep deprivation! Those dang nurses! Ugh. When I get home I plan to sleep on my bed that’s adjustable. If I didnt have that I would definitely want to recover in an easy/reclining chair. Maybe you could also prop a bunch of pillows and blankets around your bed.

Oh an adjustable bed would be heaven right now. You are so lucky! I will try the extra pillows and say a prayer. Thanks and welcome to the other side 🤗

i slept in a sitting position for the first 2 weeks. had insane pain if i laid down on my side or back. i hear alot of ppl do not have that and can sleep normally the first day. i just wrapped an extra blanket and 2 pillows behind me so i could sit in my bed. it took some time to fall asleep at first ( thank god for netflix). gl hope you have a smooth recovery!

I slept in bed, on my back, somewhat propped up on pillows. Not the best sleep I've ever gotten, but not terrible.

It was really difficult to sleep the first 5 days. I literally had about 8 pillows propping different parts of my body and could not turn on my sides. Best of luck -it will get better. The only thing I miss is lying on my belly

Yes getting comfortable is the hardest part

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
