Nausea - 3 weeks out

Hi all,

So, I am officially three weeks out on Wednesday. Yay! Really happy with results so far, but I am terribly nauseated almost all day since about 5 days out. It’s making it hard to eat. Sometimes I force myself, but other times I just choose not to because the thought alone makes me sick to my stomach. I’m also really sensitive to smells now which is making it worse. At my one week post-op appt, the doctor said to try to push through it and use anti-nausea meds as a last resort.

Should this nausea be over by now? Am I being a big baby about it? What have you all experienced and done to get rid of it? I’m so ready for it to end. I’m trying to meet water and protein goals, but most days it’s not happening because of the nausea. I have been working out consistently, though.

I am two weeks out and have a lot of nausea. I have a hard time getting all my Water and Protein down. Any suggestions?

I just emailed my doctor’s office to see if they can prescribe anything. Soooo over this sick feeling. Hope you feel better soon!

Hello I too suffered greatly from nausea. It happened to be my biggest fear and that’s exactly what I got. My doctor had me on protonic’s which was a prescription but that did not work it wasn’t until I did my own research and found that I have gastric reflux and I started taking Nexium 40 mg every day and what a major difference that is made in my life. I definitely suggest you talk to your doctor about what you could take because I hate to hear someone else have to suffer with the nausea. Good luck to you

I was 3 weeks out yesterday and suffer from nausea all the time. Yesterday I saw my Dr. and he gave me a prescription from Zofran and I feel so much better today. I was so sick I could barely leave my bed, but today I was able to eat and run a few errands. He only gave me 20 pills so I’m really hoping by the time I run out of pills the nausea will have passed.

i really hope you get relief soon.

Thank you for the responses! My doctor prescribed zofran. I am on Prevacid for my GERD, which is what I was on pre-op to control it, as well. Zofran seems to work okay, but I still have a little sour stomach. I’m determined to eat/drink more in hopes that will completely eliminate the problem.
