2 days post op

Band to bypass revision on 12/22. Having a hard time getting protein in. Sipping but get gas pains after sipping anything other than water. I’m feeling very weak and still very sleepy. Want to sleep all day but force myself to be awake and drink fluids. Anyone else experience this?

Starting to feel discouraged and definitely Feeling like I shouldn’t have done this right before Christmas [emoji53].

Hiya

I was band to bypass 16th. The sleepiness will pass soon - I need a nap, but not 4-5 hours any more! Walks, many short ones, will move the gas pain. It is nasty but passes.

After that, it feels like every time you breathe you sip! Water, protein shakes, protein soup.

But here I am, Day 11, and it is WAY easier already. Even if I can’t have any Christmas food!

You’ll get there...

I hear ya. I was sleeved on 12/7 and it's been hard. My pre-op diet started on Thanksgiving so I didn't even get that. You'll make it through, and next year you'll be able to enjoy the food of the holidays (in much smaller portions of course) AND you'll be smaller. Pretty soon many people will be doing similar to what we're doing, eating better and exercising, with their New Year's resolutions. Except other people won't have the benefit of the sleeve. Keep that in your head. It's those kinds of thought that have kept me going.

Thanks for the encouragement! I feel like a turned a corner today. Feeling much more awake and not much pain. Drinking fairlife milk with sugar free hot chocolate mixed in and it’s going down just fine. Taking it one day at a time!

That is fantastic news! Each day (most days!) a bit better, a bit less fatigued!
