chewing instead of blending

im about to start my pureed & soft foods stage and was wondering if I could just to chew instead( for example chicken,tuna salad)

Just follow your doc's diet plan, man. It wasn't made to challenge you to find loopholes, it's there to make sure you heal properly.

I never blended anything. I chose soft stuff like yogurt, cheese, canned chicken and chewed it till mush. My Dr was OK with this.

Ask your doctor and see what they think. I never had a pureed/blended phase in my diet - I just went right to soft protein and I chewed, chewed, chewed.
