Arterial line?

Did anyone else have to sign for a possible arterial line for RNY? I'm having hiatal hernia repair and conversion from sleeve to bypass. A possible arterial line scares me.

You have to sign All. The. Things. pre-surgery. All. The. Things. Then after having the crap scared out of you, pray that you will wake up with all your fingers and toes and no blood transfusions.

I woke up with that when I had kidney surgery a few years back. They told me they might, and they ended up doing it while I was under to get a better measuring of my blood pressure. I was a little sore around the puncture area for a week or two, but that was it. They removed it right after I woke up. I had it in my wrist.
