Heartburn

I am 2.5 weeks post op and I have heart burn or acid reflux. Idk how to tell the difference BC it rarely happens. But am I able to take tums to help it??

Yes, you can take Tums, I've seen others take milk of magnesia. Or otc heartburn meds like pepcid or tagamet. Save the nexium or Prilosec for severe cases.

Talk to your doctor. See about a proton pump inhibitor like omeprazole. Post op our stomachs can overproduce acid because they aren't adjusted to the new anatomy. Many docs put everyone on them post op.
