Cleared for purées

Today I went for my three week postop visit with my surgeon. He is very pleased with my recovery and says I’m perfectly on target, as well as my 25 pound weight loss since 9/14!

I have now been cleared to advance to the purée stage which includes eggs, cottage cheese and other yummy things. I’m very excited. But most exciting is that since I’m getting all my water in easily, I have permission to drink up to 2 cups of coffee each day!! Oh, how I have missed coffee!

Congratulations! I was so excited when I finally made it to that stage. I think my first meal was a huge (1/2 cup) vat of pureed sweet peas. My little baby niece and nephew had nothing on me. LOL

I came home and had a half a cup of cottage cheese, which is something I actually really enjoy. Now I’m going to make a scrambled egg for dinner! The cottage cheese sat well. Fingers crossed for the egg!!

I have a stockpile of three litres of chilled egg-whites in half-litre containers with a USE BY DATE of December 11th ... two months after my op.

I find that it's easy to have either (a) on its own (b) lightly cooked as pale scrambled egg (c) mixed with veggie juices or purees OR (d) mixed with drinking water or protein shakes.
