Liquid Diet Ideas

First off...I'm new to this site. So...HELLO EVERYONE!

For insurance purposes, I'm on the fast track for surgery. I'm HOPING to have surgery the week before Thanksgiving.

My nutritionist informed me that I will have to be on a liquid diet for 8 days before surgery.

What are some of your favorite liquid-based meal replacements? I have my booklet that she gave me and I plan on following that. I would like ideas from my peers to see what their thoughts are.

Thanks in Advance!

I tried 4 different types of clear protein drinks and hated them all. The premier clear from Sam's was tolerable.
The premier protein shakes are good, chocolate and vanilla. Don't like the banana or the Carmel.
Sugar Free Jell-O, low calorie Gatorade.
Basically the liquid diet sucks and is going to be very hard.
Get yourself mentally prepared.
Being on liquids, especially clear liquids is torture.

Jsemmig, No Alcohol. When I had my Psyche visit I asked the Dr what would disqualify a person from getting approved. He said if you were an alcoholic because you cant drink alcohol during your recovery period. My surgeon told me the same.

I am currently 15 days post-op and so I've been in liquid land. I bought a bunch of different kinds so that I would have a variety.

The ON Chocolate WHEY by Optimum Nutrition, which I got at Costco is good. I also bought a bunch of the Syntrax Nextar kinds that come in a ton of flavors. The Peanut Butter cookie is really good, thought it doesn't dissolve all the way. Maybe that's the cookie bits ;) For my pre-op, I mostly drank the premade vanilla Premier combined with a little almond milk and a few strawberries. That was really good. Good Luck.

If you have a ninja, My favorite thing was Progresso tomato basil soup! Strained, of course! Warm filling. Be careful with canned soups if you are watching sodium.
Matrix perfect chocolate shakes were great!
I had to do 10 days before surgery.
