Check to see if they gave you a list--I was given detailed paperwork on post-op diet phases. Probably, however, you can have yogurt and cream soups and sugar-free pudding. And oh, so many protein shakes . . .

I'm on my 4th day post op. Dr said I can now do full liquid diet. What's the difference?

Clear liquid diets consist of see-though, clear liquids (read: clear juice without pulp, water, broth, jello, tea, etc).

Full liquid diets consist of liquids you cannot see through (read: milk, shakes, strained soups, yogurt, pudding, gravies, thinned oatmeal, thinned cream of wheat, sherbet).

Congratulations on your surgery! You might find more answers on the Post-Op forum. Good luck!

I am 5 days out and on a clear liquid diet. But having to get 80g of protein a day and can only do 30ml every 15 min., I can only do protein all day and not meeting that goal of 80g. Nurse say we are awake 16 hours a day, that's some people, I'm on pain management and have been for years, so I sleep more on my medicine. But enjoy what ever you can get in, I'm only on protein.
