I know all about the lingering cough.. about 6 weeks seems to be the magic # for that..

Keeping my fingers crossed for you that you'll be golden for surgery.

There is a tea called throat coat that may help. I use it for cough and sore throat too. It has an herb called slippery elm in it that coats and it tastes like licorice. Good luck with your surgery.

I noticed you mention you have chronic reflux, any chance the coughs from that ?

Because I have a chronic cough that comes and goes which is definitely attributable to bad reflux.

Regardless I think its always a wise idea to give your surgeons office a call, and let them know youre concerned because you dont want this to affect your surgery.

This way they could always do something (like send you to a referral, give you an antibiotic etc) so that this isnt a "surprise" issue on the date of surgery resulting in a last minute delay/cancellation.

It honestly doesnt sound like something that would cancel your surgery, but this close why risk it. Cover your ass and just give them a call

I too had a lingering cough from bronchitis for months. Eventually, We thought it was maybe reflux related, but turns out it was due to the blood pressure meds my Dr put me on. All of a sudden one day, I remembered her telling me that 10% of people develop a cough. Once I started another BP medication, the cough stopped.

Are you on BP meds?
