How do I get enough protein

Recommended Posts

Hello all. I'm two weeks post-op and I've just started the pureed stage. I'm wondering if I'm going to be able to get all my Protein in now that I'm consuming more real food and fewer Protein Shakes. The foods I'm supposed to eat -- like pureed chicken and pureed egg salad -- doesn't have nearly as much protein as the shakes do. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do?

Our pan calls for 3 meals, and 40oz of shakes.

I eat yogurt, cheese, and put Protein Powder in my coffee. I also eat a lot of canned chicken. Buffalo chicken dip, or add canned chicken to my Soup. Plus, Protein Water is useful. If I have a good day, I will have 1 Premier Protein, but in the beginning, I had to have 2.

I still do two shakes a day, one for Breakfast, and one after the gym, and I am 2 years out

Agree with above, i am three months out and every morning i have a smoothie made from 2 scoops chocolate VEGA 1 Protein powder (24 grams) and 6 oz skim milk with extra protein (10 grams) and 6 ounces chameleon cold brew coffee. Throw into a cup of crushed ice and blend in ninja.

that makes sure i get a good protein boost in an easy way in the morning.

In the puree stage put that Unjury unflavored powder on everything you can.

beyond puree stage order some pure Protein Bars (15 grams) or kind (there are some that are 12 grams) barsand have those between meals.

get some of those oikos triple zeros yogurts and eat those. Go to smoothie king and get one of the high protein smoothies and tell them to sub the turbinado for non cal sweetener.

There are lots of little things you can do to get the protein in over the course of the day.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
