Two months out as of August 21st

I'm still trying to learn and remember to eat slowly and still learning what I can handle and can't handle. Food is a whole new thing now and my mom was against me having the wls in the first place and now that I can't hardly eat much when I do eat, I'm starting to feel like lying to her would be easier. Telling her I ate more than I really did. I shouldn't have to do this because I'm 56 and I'm tired of babying her about the whole situation but it's almost a necessity. Has anyone else been through this?

Do whatever it takes to help you relax. I would just not give her numbers and quantity and just say ' Yes, I am on target for today, my NUT is pleased with my progress on the plan.' And then change the subject.

Do you knit or crochet or hand embroider? If you do anything like that, then always carry something around w you and just say - 'hey wanna see what I'm working on now?' Or get out a jigsaw puzzle on the kitchen table or a hand of gin rummy....ANYTHING non-food related...
