Hello everyone! I'm five days out and doing pretty good. I really miss my straws for drinking..... And my diet coke..... Is this really forever????

In three months post op and have been using straws for the last month or so. I've heard soda is always a bye bye. I was hugely addicted but I am fine now and don't plan to go back. For a treat I have an unsweetened green iced tea from Starbucks or a propel zero.

I am allowed 'flat soda' On my plan. But I am not intrested now ( 5 weeks out) You get full so fast, to me the discomfort would not . be worth it for me .

I am not sure about the straw, some people use them some do not :)

I love VitaWater, Crystal Light and Mio drops. There's a black cherry flavored Mio drop, that is really good. Also Snapple Diet Iced Tea is really good if you don't mind the caffeine. I thought kicking my Diet Coke habit would be so hard, but it didn't take long for me to not miss it at all. Another thing I like is the Water concoction from the Flat Belly Diet book, add sliced cucumber, grated ginger, sliced lemon and crushed fresh mint to water, let it steep and drink it. Lovely!

I love Diet Coke as well but it literally leaches Calcium from your bones. Once I found that out, every time I took a sip I envisioned calcium leaving my bones so I use that to help me not want it. Scary thing is I drank it like crazy in my teen years too.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
