Yet another newbie arrives...

I've been lurking around for a few weeks, and finally got brave enough to register. I'm so glad I came across this mb, and I hope that everyone considering the lapband does-the exchange of info that I've seen taking place is invaluable!

I'm hoping to have my surgery sometime in early 2008; there is no way I can take any time off my job during the holidays. My job? Everyone ready to groan? I'm a professional chef. :)

Anyhow, I just wanted to say hello before I started asking questions.

Welcome, Laura! You will find lots of answers and support here. I am 3 weeks post-op and starting to feel like ME again! I wish you the best of everything! Waiting for the surgery is the hardest part. Maybe as a chef, you'll be able to help us all adapt recipes to fit our needs! That would be great. You'll be around lots of temptation, but hold true to yourself and your goals, and you'll be fine. Just keep the end results in your mind always! Take care of you!!--Sue:)

Welcome Laura! I think that you can manage your job as a personal chef with the Lapband! I even bet you will be able to bring more to the table than before to your clients! :Banane30: You will have a healthy relationship with food! Good luck to you and again, welcome!

Hi Laura

Welcome !!!

As you know this is a great place for info - support etc.

Since you are a Chef you can come up with healthy receipe for us - or even write a cookbook for banders - liquid stage - pureed stage - soft etc... :)

Good luck on your journey....
