Right after surgery, your body is in a major heal mode. Many people find it difficult to meet their daily protein and fluid requirements during the first few weeks. So don't be too concerned. Just keep trying and you should soon be able to meet these goal. There are many forms of protein. Just experiment and find the one that you can tolerate the best. They all work. Just make sure it has no sugar or low sugar content.

My surgeon said for the first couple of weeks focus on fluid. I put unflavored protein powder in my water and it helps get to my protein goal. After you can eat more it's a little easier to get the protein but I am learning it has to be a conscious effort and adding protein powder to everything you can helps.

Yes! Totally! Drink the protein waters if that helps!

And as everyone said focus on the fluid first the protein will come

So, have you tried the Isopure drinks? They are 20 oz bottles that come in several flavors. I tried the melon apple and loved it; the pineapple banana something or other was pretty good; the passion fruit and blue stuff were NOT good (IMHO). That apple melon seems like a great way to get protein, but it's like $4.25 a bottle.

@faithmel

i'll go along with OP and say the protein water is ok.

pre-mixed btle - um, um, good!!!

really tastes delicious - only way to fly in my:rolleyes:

opinion. Swiss Chocolate is what i love.

drink and then drink some more.

At 6 weeks i had to go to hospital - i was

dehydrated. had IV put in with ??? and

stuff (electrolytes??) it was on valentines day!

DH brought me flowers!! i gave them to nurses

so YOU drink, and drink and then drink -
