you're just in a stall. They're very common. Most people experience several stalls while losing weight. Just keep following your eating plan and your weight loss will start again soon.

as for Hair loss, that is very common, too. It will last a few months, and then it'll grow back.

Catwoman7...Thank you for making me relax. Your profile looks so good about your weight loss journey and I will keep your words with me about stalls. I wish this first stall of mind get over soon. Thank you for replying.

Would you like to give me advise about snacks...what you are eating if you are hungry in b/w your meals? As I dont want to eat anything non appropriate Snacks. Thank you in advance.

my Snacks are usually something like a Protein Shake or a Dannon Light & Fit Greek yogurt. Occasionally I'll have some baby carrots with about 1/4 C hummus (raw vegetables can be hard on my stomach, even two years out, but because they can be irritating, it stops me from eating too much. Hey - whatever works!). At night I'll sometimes have a couple of sugar free popsicles. Like raw vegetables, the sugar alcohols in sugar free popsicles bother my stomach, so all I can handle is two of them. I also eat Light & Fit yogurt occasionally at night, too, especially if I'm craving ice cream. The creaminess/sweetness/dairy aspect of the yogurt hit the same spot as ice cream would. I also drink *a lot* of Fluid (usually Crystal Light) - which helps sometimes, but I know sometimes you just have to have real food...

Catwoman7..this is such a valuable tips. I Thank you for this. Basically I am not at all sugar like person. I don't like sweet stuff...( I know its unusual :) most of the time I craving for a bit spicy and tangy food. that's it. but I can understand that heaving a yogurt in Snacks is like you are increasing your Protein intake. For me I can eat hard veggie easily. So I guess hummus and veggie is a great idea. Thank you :)

I lost about 6kg in the week after surgery and nothing since then. It's been one month since I had surgery.

Do not worry. I lost about 12 or 13 lbs in the 1st 9 days after surgery, then stayed the same (up and down a pound or two) for almost 3 weeks. I get required Protein in every day, not always enough Water though. Today, I am about 10 weeks out from surgery (sleeved on 3/31) and got on the scale this morning and was 199.8 [emoji4]

I am definitely a slower loser than most, but on surgery day was 227 so averaging about 2-3 lbs. a week. Depending on where you started and your exercise and meal plan is why so many people vary. Some surgeons give patients a couple weeks of liquids, I went home from the hospital on soft foods. Follow your plan and you will lose.

Check your Iron levels. My hair got very thin! My Doc had my ferritin checked and it was a 4! Supposed to be 70! After 2 iron infusions my ferritin is 81 and my hair stopped falling out. Now waiting for it to come back!!!

Did you consult your doc? Any advise from them? And I guess you must have had a enough lost during your band period !!!! I guess MGB is slow but effective. And I truly believe now that my body is on stall. Means need to change a diet and my routine. Good luck to you.

Yes went yesterday. He said not to worry that loss if much slower after a revision, to just give it time. And that I also have my height, weight and age and slow metabolism to take in consideration. He said to be patient and just keep doing what I'm doing.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
