Cross post: 2.5week stall?

Recommended Posts

Ok maybe it's not a stall but given that I was losing a point or so a day the first to weeks, to not have the scale move for 6 days is unsettling.

Surgery 5/2. Lost 21lbs in the preop diet and 16lbs post op so far. I'm eating between 600-800cals per day. On on purees. My meals are like this:

Breakfast: Premier Protein shake

Snack: Greek yogurt

Lunch: soup- like a chicken broth with veg

Dinner: 1/3 cup puréed meat, 1/4 cup each of puréed veg and potatoes

I'm getting about 80 oz of Water. Protein is about 60g so yesterday I also added another shake to get to 90.

I'm nervous to go on regular foods soon and gain if I'm not losing now.

Any other suggestions? Or just calm the F down[emoji52]

it's the infamous "three-week stall". I had mine weeks 2 and 3. It broke week 4, and I dropped like 6-8 lbs practically overnight. Just follow your plan and it'll break - I promise!

I hope I am only in this infamous stall phase too...... I am 4 weeks out today.from band to bypass revision.... and have lost a total of 1stone 5 1/2 pounds... but of that only 1 pound this week and 1 pound last week... I have a shake for breakfast.... a small low cal high Protein lunch and dinner... around 60___80 protein... not quite making my Fluid target... but very disappointed the last two weeks..... recovery wise I feel fine...

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
