Elliptical Anyone??

OK so I just received my elliptical machine yesterday ... the hubby put it together for me last night and all I can say is .... man, that thing kicks my @$$! I can't last more than 2 minutes on it without my legs giving out on me, and gasping for breath :)

Has anyone else had this problem? ... Does it get easier? I'd hate to have wasted $700 on a machine I can't use :faint:

The elliptical is hard, but with time it becomes easier. At first I couldn't last for 3 mins, and now i can go for about a hour!! Keep with it because it gets easier. I can do it for like an hour now.

yay.. I am still at 10 min on the elliptical-but I also mix in the treadmill and bike for variety-i get bored really easy-good job-keep it up

Lol. I just HAVE to chime in here!

My first time on the elliptical I barely did 2 minutes... the next time I worked very hard and made it to 5. - THEN I discovered the incline settings! (Duh!) Now I set it at the medium incline (5) and I can do 60-90 minutes easily. I LOVE the elliptical and choose it over the tredmill everytime!

8 minutes today ... I'm gettin there! :biggrin1:

AWESOME job!!! Aren't you proud of yourself!!? Way to go!!

Thats Fantastic! And I thought you could only do 2 minutes!!!!!!!:whoo:

I loveee the eleptical! For nothing else that it burns an amazing amount of calories. One question though. Has anyone had issues with their feet swelling when on it? My feet actually fall asleep about 15 minutes into it. I really can't do more than 20 because its sooo annoying. Just wondered if anyone else had the same thing happenig.

Oh and Blooeyes! I am sooo cheering for you! Keep it up girl. You'll see a big difference in your legs and butt soon. It's fabulous :Banane35:

WE are cheering for you! Just think about how many calories you are burning while you are doing those 8 minutes. It really makes a difference. Of course the butt and legs is where I really need to lose weight. So, I just image it falling off when I am on the machine... Haha.

I can now do 30 minutes, but it was a struggle.

Keep up the good work!!!!

Mary:)

I used to have that issue of my feet falling asleep too. I did a little research on it and found that it's not unusual to experience that. It has something to do with the circulation being impeded because you never lift your feet off of the 'pedals'. Loosening your shoelaces will help, as will taking small breaks just to get the circulation back. Not much else you can do!

Thanks so much! Yeah it was so odd to me because I wasn't experiencing this on the treadmill. I'll try to loosen up my shoes even more. Thanks!

Thank you all for the encouragement! I did 10 minutes this morning (all together at the same time, nonstop!) :biggrin1: ... And to think 2 weeks ago I could barely do 2 minutes! It's definitely getting easier
