April 11, 20179 yr Is anyone having trouble with the pre-op diet? I know everyone has different guidelines....some surgeons allow a lean sensible meal, and others are strictly liquids. Is any one in the same boat as me?
April 11, 20179 yr Im on liquids now. Surgery is tomorrow. I dont think it was that bad. I just drank alot of broth. I made chicken soup and?at the broth. That seemed to sustain me longer than boxed broth. I also ate?a lot of jello and popsickles.
April 11, 20179 yr Author Im sucking on a bad boy now (popsicle) lol. I heard that broth does help, I should probably try it. But oh wow, are you nervous?

April 11, 20179 yr April 25I just had my one meal that I get a day and I swear I'm feeling like I would rather be fat then go thru another day like today! I'm feeling super frustrated.
April 11, 20179 yr I know the liquid protein diet is no fun. I have lost 22 pounds or around there since I started with my mandatory appts to be considered for surgery. (5 Jan 2017) I have lost 12 lbs in 12 days which is when I last saw my surgeon to complete the paper work and have exam for surgery. I started the preop liquid diet 4 days after that appt. Stay strong and there will be rewards!
April 12, 20179 yr I started my pre op diet yesterday. It's hard. I'm doing 3 premier protein shakes a day and SF Jello and Popsicles. I haven't tried the soup (juice only) yet.

April 12, 20179 yr Im sucking on a bad boy now (popsicle) lol. I heard that broth does help, I should probably try it. But oh wow, are you nervous? Yes those popsicles are my lifeline. I stay sucking on those suckers. Jello too but I found a parfait sugar free jello at Walmart and some local grocery stores. Just a little different from the jello. I'm not too into the pudding it tastes a little too nasty for me. I have tomorrow then Thursday is my surgery. I'm almost there. I was hungrier today than all other days. I'm nervous and excited.
