I'm on day 4 of my two week preoperative diet. Surgeon has me on protein shakes and bariatric clear liquids. Twice a week I can have a healthy meal consisting of lean protein and non starchy veggies. I'm doing fine, have some struggling moments but overall it's not that bad. I guess knowing that I have to do this to hit my goal is what keeps me in check! My question is if I can have two meals per week why can't I just eat high protein low carb instead of shakes? I know liver shrinking is low carb but does anyone know why it has to be liquids? Just curious!
