How do I do a status update? I tried searching but it just came up with an unanswered post. Thank you!

Yeah, I keep fumbling around with this since the new update. But here it is:

In the top menu bar, next to your username on the right, it should say "+Create". If you click on that there is a dropdown menu and the very first item is for status updates! Actually that create button is a shortcut to all the main things you may want to do on this site.

I do not have the option to create a status update. I am wondering, do you have be of a higher ranking to create the updates?

I don't have that option either

That I don't know! Hopefully someone who runs this site will read this and be able to give us an answer.

Also - in the "status updates" bar on the left, just below the title there is a space that says "What's on your mind?" You can add your update there too, or do you not see that either?

I really think that this site should have an FAQ on the how to use option. Where to go and what to do.

I agree. I searched for hours and came up empty handed. I'm sure were aren't the only ones wanting to know/asking.

Hi, I figured it out. It is something that needs to be enabled for the option to appear on the "+Create".

To enable status updates. Do the following:

1) Click your username on the top right hand side (Then Click Account Settings)

2) On the right hand side, you will see edit profile.

3) Under entering your birthday, you will see "Enable Status Update".

Then save it, it will show up like @biginjapan said.

Thanks for pointing out the issue you were having with Status Updates and glad to see a member was able to help! I've applied a change globally for all members to be allowed to post status updates, so this should no longer be an issue moving forward :-)
