Revision... Aetna

Anyone been through a revision with Aetna?

I currently have the band, I initially went from 239 to 165 back up to 239 +/- in the past 5 years. I just started looking into revision surgery and would love to hear your experiences.

Thanks in advance

Np and you'll get the approval I've only had my band for 5 years also lots of people get them removed they are none to be no good after 5 years

Thanks I'm just nervous about it since it took multiple appeals to get it approved in the first place. [emoji22]

Just an FYI for anyone who cares...my approval is still pending. The pre-certification was submitted to Aetna on 3/3; it is now 3/15. Ugh.......

I got approved!!!! It took from 3/3 to today 3/21 for anyone who is researching Aetna response times.

I just got my approval Friday! On the first attempt. Totally shocked as I thought for sure they would put up a fight!

O-town. My dr is making me do all the requirements as if it was the primary surgery. How do I avoid this? Should I call Aetna? Get a different dr? I need revision due to GERD.

Mine did too, although I only had to do 3 months and some people quote 6. But my approval was super fast and easy.

Good luck!
