No Gum EVER?!

I want to know from the veterans if this holds true. I was told the same about straws, but have read others say they use them all the time.

I drink with straws, lots of us do. As long as you are smart about it and aren't sucking in air, it isn't an issue.

Never been a gum chewer, ever.

Straws are a comfort issue. If they don't bother you, they're fine.

Gum is a safety thing. If you accidentally swallow it, it could get stuck in your small stomach and require surgery to remove.

Never thought of the issue gum could cause. Now I have a better understanding.

Thanks
