No problem drinking - 4 days post op

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am 4 days post op and am recovering well. I am having no problem getting liquids down and can drink and entire bottle Water in about 45 minutes. I do have some tightness and indigestion but nothing too severe. So my biggest fear is my sleeve is too big? Maybe the doctor didn't do it right? Am I being nervous and overly paranoid?

I didn't think about the hernia being repaired. Today is the first day I drank more a full 16 oz in a day. I was sleeved on 2/15 and every drink was like I was drinking mouthfuls of air and I just instantly had gas in my esophagus. Today I'm drinking crystal light lemonade and I'm 4 days post op, so it's definitely a new day. I'm not at 64 oz yet, but I can slowly but surely see it in the future. Keep up the good work guys!!!
I'm sure your sleeve is fine, every one is just different

I was sleeved on 2/17 with hiatal hernia repair as well. I was told I could only sip one ounce every 15 minutes. If I sip too quickly, I get a tightening in my chest for a couple seconds and then it passes. Surgeon discharged me yesterday and let me know I can do about 2 ounces of liquid at a time and that for some reason Water is harder to go down opposed to flavored sugar free water. Today only got about 30oz down.

I am glad I am not the only one too. I was sleeved 2/20, follow up 3/3. I can drink forever with no problem, first mushy solids were so easy. If I didn't see the holes, I wouldn't know that I had surgery! Will definitely address with the doc

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
