I'm being told that the mini RNY and the mini Gastric Bypass are the same, but when I read, it says something different...Can anyone enlighten me?

Mini just means it is laproscopic. The MGB is still the MGB and the RNY is still the RNY. The two ARE NOT the same. The pouch for the MGB is about the size of a magic marker. If the RNY pouch is smaller than that, I would be surprised.

Dr. Illan posted on another post here that there is no such thing as a mini rny, there is the mini gastric bypass (mgb). people are using their own terms and not medical terms.

I have no regrets my sleeve was 1/25, pain was totally bearable. If you get up and walk even around your dining room table it helps... my only concern is getting the protein in. Everything I try I taste the supplements, but that being said I am doing my very best!
Just follow your doctors instructions to the max!

There is RNY and MGB (or single-anastomosis bypass). Both can be done laparoscopically.
