Not quite a week post op and doing fairly well. I do have problems with gas and gurgling feeling in my stomach at port site, please tell me this is normal. No vomitting, no nausea and able to tolerate liquids without problems. I am looking so forward to this journey down a road to better health and thinnness. Thanks!

Congrats On Your Banding...yes, This Is Normal To Feel Gassy And Have The Rumbling Sounds...you Are On Your Way....sounds Like You Are Doing Just Fine...hang In There..

I was banded on the 19th and I feel great, no problems, never even took pain meds as of yet, but yes gassy, alot of rumbling and gurgling.....but i'll take that.....swallowing well, only had potassium issues, low potassium taking nasty pills dissolved in jello water to bring it back up....:clap2:

Hi Its now 2 days since i had my band fitted and im in quite a lot of pain but i guess its trapped wind. Swallowing fluids well but don't think i'm drinking enough, had a cup of hot chocolate and a milk shake today but felt really bloated afterwards. Does anyone know when the pain will start to ease?

Hot chocolate and a milkshake two days out from band surgery? Your post-surgery diet is a far cry from the one I've been told to follow.

Week 1:

Breakfast: 1/2 cup diet Gelatin 8-10 oz of unsweetened beverage

Lunch: 1/2 cup Crystal light 8-10oz unsweetened beverage

Dinner: 1/2 cup broth 8-10oz unsweetened beverage

Snack: 1 sugar-free popsicle

Perhaps you are trying too much too soon?

Thanks for your comments.... Not sure if it makes any difference but i'm from the uk and had my band fitted at the Leeds Nuffield Hospital and my post of diet is

0 - 2 weeks post op

Aim to drink 2.5 - 3.5 litres of Fluid a day, suitable liquids are:

Semi skimmed milk -1 pint a day

Soups/milkshakes e.g. slimfast

Low calorie or reduced sugar squash

Tea/herbal teas, coffee, boveril, oxo, marmite

"Light "hot chocolate or horlicks

Water

Feeling a lot better today pain has really eased of and is more on my left side now. Can manage to get up and down out of chair a lot better too. Don't know if anyone has had this problem but i haven't emptied my bowels now for 4 days thinking about phoning dietican for advice.

Thanks again for the advice

Speak to you soon

I joined this site in Aug and have been on it daily...learned alot of what to expect and just reading other people's banding experiences, this has been a great support for me and I finally got the courage to introduce myself... :clap2: Thanks for all the readings and advice very helpful...

Looking forward to learning alot more... Thanks again !!!!!!!
