So i need to stop smoking for a month before my sleeve surgery and i use to smoke like 12 cigs a day! Today was my first day trying to quit and i failed and smoked 2 cigs......i feel so disappointed in myself my follow up appointment is on the 16th of febuary and was hoping to be able to tell doctor that i quit 30 days ago but guess not now! I really want this surgery for my health problems! Any tips on quitting this bad habit of mine.

I had to quit too and agree was probably the toughest thing to do. But after a few months, cravings are not too bad any more. Whenever I had the urge, I took a walk. It really helped. Even in bad we

That's great! I was told I had to quit six weeks before my pre-surgery testing. I used to smoke a pack a day for the past 20 years but I quit while pregnant (twice) so on my birthday I had a morning cig with coffee and said good bye to both smoking and caffeine. Best decision I ever made. I feel so much better and happier and my skin looks great.

My surgery is the 31st. My testing is Tuesday. I haven't smoked cigs since December 8th.

I'm really into the power of the mind and I followed a program that is called the easy way to quit smoking by Allen Carr I listened to it everyday and sometimes played it when I was going to sleep through the night. I feel that helped me long term because it changed my mind on the way I viewed my habit. New insight is an incredible tool. I was a pack and a half a day smoker for 7 years and have been quit since August 1st. I have no desire to go back. :) I hope your so proud of yourself it's not an easy decision to make and to stick to.

Al long as it is the nicotine free vape, that should be good, but might want to check with the doc to be sure. A friend of mine did sleeve and when tested for nicotine, failed and had to wait another 30 days before they would retest and finally clear him.

He had vaped and didn't realize there is still nicotine in it. Ended up quitting altogether and is now over a year smoke free and 100 pounds lighter and healthier!

Quitting smoking is easy. I know I must have done it 10 times.

I smoke 20 years and quit two years ago by vaping. I don't vape anymore either after reaching 0 mg of nicotine. I quit after my mother was diagnosed with PAD - a smoking related disease which causes painful, insufficient blood flow to the legs.

The surgery is a reason to quit but don't make it the only reason.
