Post op liquid diet

Recommended Posts

College Inn chicken with vegetables and herbs is the best!!! I used kt for the pre op diet and it was just what I needed! All you have to do is strain it for post op and you're good to go!

I'm prepping for pre-op now. Just made my first bone broth ever and it is fricking delicious! I took a rotisserie chicken and took off most of the meat (tossed the skin) then added the bones to the crock pot. Threw in 4 whole carrots with tops (rinsed and broke in half) 4 celery stalks with leaves (rinsed and broke in half) quartered an onion and tossed it in, 6 garlic cloves (peeled) some peppercorns and some fresh thyme (or rosemary or sage or all three, your preference) then I filled the crock pot with filtered Water until just covering everything. Set it on low and 24 hrs later - voila. ( I just now read that I should of also added apple cider vinegar to draw more minerals out). Next time.

You could pull your broth out after 24 hrs, strain it and store it. Freezer in single servings indefinitely and fridge I think for up to a week. I plan to freeze it. Then add filtered Water again to your bones and leftovers and do it again. I'm planning on twice but one blogger uses it all week just replacing the broth she removes with more water for a perpetual simmering Bone Broth.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
