calling all December 2016 sleevers!

I made a group called "December 2016 Sleevers!" I would love for everyone who has a surgery date in December to join! lets be a great support system for each other and go on this journey to a better us with great friends. Share our success and failures along the way, cheer each other on, wether you already have support from your family and friends or from nobody at all like I've unfortunately seen from some, lets make sure we definitely have each other to lean on! btw they say you normally gain weight around the holidays, are we crazy?! haha

  • Just wanted you all to know my surgery went very well today. The afternoon after I didn't get the right dosage of pain meds and nausea meds so I was miserable. Once the Doctor came to see me he adjust

  • Hi bariatric fan... surgery was done yesterday. The gas pain was awful yesterday and kept me nauseated. I was feeling really bad. But I walked and used my incentive spirometer for breathing exercise

OMG... first let me say that I am not happy to hear you are not feeling well, but I thought I was the only one not feeling well. I had surgery on dec 5 and Everyone else seems like they can do a marathon but I don't right now. I still feel weak and I have intermittent pain as well. I walk but by no means is it fast due to I still feel very sore. I'm glad someone else can relate. I was starting to feel like something was wrong with me. Hope we both feel better soon????????????

@Dknal2.. i m doin so so i think., still hav pain from the holes made.. biggest problem is gas.. it puts excessive pressure in my chest n whn i try to eat it gets terrible.. i m taking my medicines but still.. lost only 8lbs.. i m terribly craving something sweet, deres always dis bitter taste on my mouth.. i cant walk fast.. sleeping wit soft pillows by my side to support my belly.. its kinda difficult fr me till now.. i m nt yet confident to go back to my regular lifestyle.. spending days at home.. thank u fr asking Dknal2.. take care

I know.., it's just discouraging a lil bit to hear some people darn near running 6 miles and I'm like "what's wrong with me"... but like you said we are healing and everyone is different.

Hi! I'm new to this app and would love to join you all! My husband and I are both having the sleeve gastrectomy on Monday, December 19. Most times I'm glad we're doing it together since it makes me feel a bit braver with him by my side, and then other times I think we must have lost our minds when we made the decision to do it on the same day!

@@kenz, thanks for sharing about your cousin, that's exactly what we envisioned- resting, healing AND losing together we've enlisted a few folks to visit us. I love that we're all surgery date buddies!!!

I bought broth from bariatric pal with Protein plus my protein juices... I'm getting about 40 g a day but it takes me literally all day to get it in .

How are you getting protein? I am suffering with that...

How are you doing post op?

I did on 7 dec 2016

Surgery was yesterday, and so far feeling pretty good! Did have some gas pains last night but better today. Some discomfort but overall not too bad! Should be able to g0 home this afternoon, then on with the rest of my new life!

@@Dknal2 I am drinking the Isopure Protein Drinks and omg! It takes me past 8 pm (and I start at 8 am) to finish it. I am still sore and gas pains are still here! Hope you are doing better than me.
