I don't know what to do! It's been over a month and the scale isn't moving! Actually, it's gonna UP a couple of pounds! My question is, is it NORMAL to be at a stall for THIS long??

Hey guys, thanks for the help! For the last week I've been doing everything perfectly! Getting in all my Protein, all my Water and exercising and I lost 6 pounds so far! So happy to be losing again!

  • Yes, I had just gained 8 pounds and had been in a stall for awhile!! I started drink about 10 cups of Water a day and have lost 2 of them already in 2 days! Be patient!

Yep! Embrace the stall. It happens. Stalled eating 800 calories a day for 20 days. Would not have believed it if I had not experienced it myself. Just Stalled up/down 2 lbs for 3 weeks. Then drop

Thanks again everyone!

@Autumn. Glad that you are past your stall and losing again. Lack of sufficient Water does inhibit weight loss: "Your metabolism breaks down the food you eat into energy, and your kidneys use water to help process toxins from what you eat and drink for excretion. If you do not drink enough water, your liver is recruited to help process the toxins. Your liver normally converts stored fat into energy, but if it is needed to help process toxins from the dehydrated kidneys, your liver cannot break down fat in your body."

When we get enough water, it frees up our body to break down the fat in our fat cells (which is a biological process that takes some effort). That's why water is part of our post-op "prescription" along with the Protein and Vitamin etc. requirements :-)

Really? Interesting and good to know! Right now I'm averaging about 3 bottles of Water a day. Is that enough? Or should I be getting in 4?

How big are the bottles? I was drinking 4 16.9oz bottles a day before surgery. Now, its a little harder to get in that much but I do try. I also bought a 32 oz Water bottle and just refill it instead of using the plastic ones.
