Post-op day 6

Feeling better today. First milestone is I was able to walk around the block - mind you I had to wear my ab binder for it but I'll take it.

My liquid diet consists of lots of milk and I think this is where I am having gas problems. I had a milk intolerance pre surgery and surgery doesn't seem to have fixed that. NUT thought it would have but no joy.

Hang on to those that are going through first week post op. You will have many ups and downs but at the end of the day I'm praying it will all be worth it.

Have you tried fairlife brand skim milk? It's a little pricey and while not lactose free, the ultra-filtration process it goes through greatly reduces the amount of lactose and carbs in general and the Protein content is higher than standard skim milk. Oddly - I found it easier to get down than pretty much any other liquid in those first couple weeks, even my Protein shakes made with it went down easier.

Sounds like you are seeing that it does get better day by day. Keep going!
